November 06, 2002 The Fundamentals of Ideation PDMA Wisconsin Chapter Meeting - Sponsored by: Johnson Controls The Product Development and Management Association (PDMA) - Wisconsin Chapter's next meeting/presentation will feature Alexis Driscoll from Outpoint Consulting. The topic of this meeting will be the Fundamentals of Ideation. Who hasn’t been faced with that critical juncture, when you’ve done all the foundation work and you know where you want to go, you just don’t know how you’re going to get there – whether you’re looking for a new product, or for a launch plan, or how to get the retailer to give you shelf space. Enter, ideation. Ideation is ”a process to come up with more ideas and better solutions in a compressed time period.” It’s a way to generate literally hundreds of beginning ideas in a matter of hours and a set of workable solutions in a day or two. In today’s just-in-time working environment, ideation fills the dual need for innovative ideas and ideas now. Alexis Driscoll will present the Fundamentals of Ideation and take attendees through a “hands-on” learning experience. She’ll explain what sets ideation apart from other problem solving processes – where it applies and how to know if you’re doing it right – and how it links to the creative mindset. Then she will demonstrate creativity problem solving techniques using the participants as ideators. Come for an exhilarating and energizing evening, November 6th, 2002. Allexis Driscoll, the founder of Outpoint Consulting, has spent over twenty years in New Product Development. Prior to consulting, she worked in high-tech, information services and telecommunications, bringing over a dozen new products and services to emerging markets. For the past 7 years at Outpoint, she’s focused on the fuzzy front end, helping clients as diverse as refined oil pipelines and coupon marketers to find new and innovative ways to attack their markets.
