Developing New Services: Are You Ready for the Challenge?
(Product Management Thought Leader Series)

Why should companies provide services to augment their product offerings?
How can companies find new service development opportunities?
What is different about the process of developing services versus that of products?
Which tools and techniques do leading companies deploy in rapid service development environments?

Tim Ogilvie and Jeneanne Rae, founders of Peer Insight, LLC (www.peerinsight.com), will shed new light on these questions. Their ongoing project--The Global Service Innovation Consortium—is based on interviews with 150 senior service innovators from 60 Fortune 500 product and service companies over the past two years. Tim and Jeneanne will draw upon this research to present new insights on a variety of topics including:

  • Identifying strategic opportunities for new services so you can drive top line growth
  • Understanding when service innovations will become important in traditionally product-driven industries tomorrow so you can make smart resource allocations today
  • Leveraging customer experience design so you can develop emotionally compelling offerings and boost customer satisfaction

Using case examples, the Peer Insight co-founders will illustrate how companies are using new tools and techniques to differentiate themselves in increasingly competitive market segments. Additionally, they will lead an interactive session regarding the most important service development topics for our PDMA audience.

As always, there will be ample opportunity for networking and discussion.
