Wednesday, May 25th, 2005 Developing New Services: Are You Ready for the Challenge? Why should companies provide services to augment their product offerings? Tim Ogilvie and Jeneanne Rae, founders of Peer Insight, LLC (www.peerinsight.com), will shed new light on these questions. Their ongoing project--The Global Service Innovation Consortium—is based on interviews with 150 senior service innovators from 60 Fortune 500 product and service companies over the past two years. Tim and Jeneanne will draw upon this research to present new insights on a variety of topics including:
Using case examples, the Peer Insight co-founders will illustrate how companies are using new tools and techniques to differentiate themselves in increasingly competitive market segments. Additionally, they will lead an interactive session regarding the most important service development topics for our PDMA audience. As always, there will be ample opportunity for networking and discussion. Presenters Tim Ogilvie, Co-founder and CEO, Peer Insight LLC Tim has over fifteen years of experience in business strategy research and analysis. During the early and mid-90s, he founded Price Waterhouse's global benchmarking practice. Tim also spent four years as a partner of Kaiser Associates, the global strategy consultancy, and has provided consortia research services to over 60 Fortune 500 companies. Jeneanne Rae, Co-founder and EVP, Peer Insight LLC Jeneanne has a track record of delivering millions of dollars in revenue and profit growth for global corporations. Her career in new product development and innovation has spanned a dozen years, including seven years as a Principal and senior management team member of IDEO, the world's leading design firm and innovation consultant. Jeneanne has also authored over a dozen articles on the connection between design and business. Jeneanne currently serves as an adjunct professor of marketing at Georgetown University's McDonough School of Business, where she teaches New Product Development in the MBA program. She also serves on the board of the Washington, DC chapter of the PDMA. Ms. Rae earned her MBA at the Harvard Business School and has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia.
