Product Manager – New Media / Internet Advertising

Our client, a growing start-up with offices in Europe and North America is setting new standards for 21st-century online entertainment.

We are looking for a candidate with experience at one of the major online advertising management systems or advertising networks. (Experience working as a PM for companies similar to Google, Yahoo, Doubleclick, 24/7 RealMedia, etc. will get your foot in the door.)

Experience launching new ad formats, targeting technologies, etc. is required. Extensive online advertising background with web programming knowledge is a plus.

You'll also be expected to play a role in recruiting both PM and engineering talent as the company grows their New York office. Some international travel between corporate offices is expected in addition to travel for meetings with major advertising and technology partners.

Director of Product Management, Manhattan

As our current offering continues to grow as a leader in the financial information space, we are seeking to continuously improve our current products as well as develop new products that support the company’s overall business strategy and goals. This is an exciting opportunity to build an innovative product based on a foundation of existing success. The Director of Product Management will be responsible for products throughout their lifecycle, including gathering requirements, defining product vision, creating preliminary design concepts, working closely with engineering to implement and improve products, and ensuring products rollouts meet deadlines and budget requirements. It also includes working with Sales, Marketing and the development team to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met

110-120k with a bonus, Manhattan location

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • Defining the product strategy and roadmap
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Working with Sales and Marketing to set pricing models
  • Developing and implementing a company-wide go-to-market plan
  • Creating and managing a process for making improvements to the existing site and products
  • Working closely with developers, sales, marketing and support as well as external agencies/partners to ensure all aspects of design, implementation, and revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met.
  • Creating any required technical documentation
  • Running beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through product testing and surveys
  • Analyzing potential partner/reseller relationships for products
  • Working with marketing to develop sales tools and collateral and to establish core positioning and messaging for products
  • Briefing and training sales force and analysts; assisting marketing with creating training documents and user guides for customers
  • Proposing and managing an overall product development budget

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 5 years marketing/product management experience
  • Demonstrated success in defining and launching excellent products, on time and on budget
  • Experience within the financial information technology industry or other content businesses
  • Experience developing Internet products and technologies; familiarity with PHP is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated experience in gathering design requirements into a product vision
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a team to rapidly produce prototypes and iterations.
  • Entrepreneurial experience and familiarity with business issues
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Vice President of Product Management, NYC

The Vice President of Product Management will be primarily responsible for driving the process for collecting, analyzing and prioritizing the market requirements for the product line, and for disseminating priority product requirements to the product development organization. As the company gains traction in new markets, the Vice President of Product Management, will play a major role, driving the pricing methodology, competitive positioning and functionality roadmap based upon direct customer feedback. He she will also invest appropriate time interacting with analysts, potential partners, customers and other constituent groups to remain current on trends and shifts in the marketplace that impact the product direction, as well as to represent the company in the marketplace as a spokesperson.

EXPERIENCE/ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

  • Passion about the people who use our products
  • Minimum 4 years experience in a product management leadership role for a successful software, digital media or Internet company.
  • Proven track record managing a product management team at the VP level.
  • Demonstrated success launching digital media related web-based software product(s) in a new category would be ideal.

  • Experience with agile/rapid software development environments
  • Significant SEM/SEO experience is preferred; however, a product management background in digital media, eCommerce and other related SaaS businesses would suffice.

Director of SEO Products – Product Manager, NYC

Our client is an emerging leader in natural search solutions that allow top level companies to obtain a competitive advantage by maximizing ROI on link building campaigns.

The Director of SEO Products, will own the business case for new products. He/She will build the financial model and business plan that will achieve the necessary ROI, and will develop the go-to-market strategy along with the product positioning and messaging. The ideal candidate will be an experienced product manager with deep knowledge of the search industry with product, User Experience (UX) and Information Architecture (IA) experience to lead a NEW SEM/SEO product initiative. He/She will have demonstrated the ability to manage the entire product lifecycle from initial market and customer needs analysis through user experience definition, information architecture, visual design and development to product launch. A key success factor is the ability to leverage a deep knowledge of the SEO and online advertising landscape and translate customer needs into compelling product features and a roadmap with defined priorities. The position is based in New York City and will report to the CEO.  

Required Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Deep Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experience combined with broad online advertising and marketing background
  • Significant experience in web product management, information architecture, user experience, UI development and management of complex, dynamic websites and online products / applications.  Be familiar with the use of PHP for the purpose of creating data feeds.
  • Expertise defining and documenting web product information architecture and user experience requirements and managing the front-end IA and creative development process
  • Excellent analytic, strategic, conceptual, communication (oral and written), persuasion and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, non-linear environment

The Product Manager I assists the Product Manager IV for CCH Capital Changes. The product management team is responsible for maximizing revenue for the portfolio by ensuring customer satisfaction and effective sales and marketing. Working with key groups including editorial, product development, marketing, sales, technology, finance, production, and customer service, the successful Product Manager I will assist in driving the creation, management and implementation of the portfolio strategy set by the Product Manager IV.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Innovation

  • Assist in translating user needs into innovative ideas for enhancing existing products and developing new products.
  • Supporting needed investments through business cases and financial analysis, including P&L.
  • Develop customer, content and product expertise:
  • Acquire and expand subject matter and user work practice expertise through consultation with customers, editorial, sales, marketing and product development.
  • Manage presence at conferences, seminars and trade shows.
  • Monitor relevant sources and publications.
  • Track competitors, including existing and potential new market entrants.
  • Once knowledgeable, give product demonstrations and conduct sales/customer training sessions.

Marketing:

  • In conjunction with marketing, manage marketing initiatives. Monitor campaign results and make recommendations for changes to the marketing plan based on the results.
  • Ensure conferences, seminars and trade shows are fully leveraged for lead generation and customer interaction in conjunction with sales and marketing.
  • Analyze pricing for individual products and market segments (CFU’s). Make appropriate recommendations to modify pricing, with the help of sales and marketing.
  • Investigating marketing partnerships to create new sales channels outside core market segments.
  • Ensuring product information is populated and managed on the external and internal marketing systems (product web site, sales resource centers, etc).
  • Support sales efforts:
  • Gather feedback through sales calls and other customer interactions.
  • Work with Product Specialist to train sales on new products and features.
  • Provide focused analysis of how customers use products and features.
  • Identify sales objections and how they can be overcome.
  • Work with Product Specialist to supply account executives with target customer profiles and lists.

Key Working Relationships

To be successful, the Product Manager I must collaborate closely with other groups and stakeholders to, among other things, elicit information, identify issues, manage projects, share expertise, and ensure best practices. Key relationships include: Editorial, Product Specialist, Marketing, Sales, Technology, Finance & Customer Service

Education and Experience:

Bachelors’ degree required. MBA preferred.

2-4 years experience in product management, preferably in financial services and/or information publishing industry performing similar duties. Knowledge of corporate actions and business-to-business data services a plus.

Other Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Certifications: 

  • Must be motivated to work on new and challenging projects.
  • Ability to work in a deadline driven, fast paced environment
  • Comfortable and generally conversant with technology and product content
  • Some travel required
