Blogs in Product Development and Management
Download the slides from this presentation
Thursday, January 12, 2006
What do blogs bring to product development and management? Blogs are
a hot topic, but how are they useful in business, and especially in
product development and management? How are successful early
adopters using them? These are key questions the presenter asked 70
well-known bloggers at firms ranging from IBM, Microsoft, Yahoo!,
and SAP, to many small businesses in a variety of industries as part
of research for his new book, Business Blogs: A Practical Guide.
This session summarizes the insights gained from these interviews
and specifically addresses the use of blogs for product development
and management with examples from several successful practitioners.
The cases revealed that product development and management is a
particularly rich application for blogs.
Presented by Bill Ives. Bill formerly led the knowledge management
practice with the Human Performance Service Line at Accenture and is
now a writer and consultant.
