Wednesday, February 6, 2008 Being Global Means More than Hanging a Map of the World on the Wall Presenter: John Slade Obviously, globalization is the way of the future in software. Yet many of us aren’t sure we fully embrace how to build products for global markets. In February, we heard some thoughts from a PM who has been through the joys and tears of becoming global, and got a handy top ten list of things to do when working with global teams. This presentation covered:
V About the Speaker John Slade is Vice President of Global Product Management at Yahoo!. John's teams manage products that enable Yahoo to deliver its advertising services to hundreds of thousands of advertisers in 20+ countries around the world. Prior to Yahoo, John worked in product and service management at companies including RiverOne, which provided supply-chain synchronization services to companies in the high-tech manufacturing sector and at Bowne, which provided technology services to corporate clients. When not helping Yahoo and its customers enable the future of online advertising, John can often be found trying out Web 2.0 products while simultaneously cheering on his beloved Dodgers. John holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University
