Participating in our chapter activities will provide you with opportunities for networking and professional advancement.
Getting more intimately involved with us can provide you with even greater advantage. Our organization is 100% run by volunteers building a community of professionals, and there is no better time to get involved in our activities than now.
Here are a few ways ways you can get involved in our activities:
Chapter Officers
As a chapter officer, you share the challenge and rewards of building a local professional community. Officers are responsible for setting up chapter events, reaching out to the local community to increase our membership, balancing the budget, organizing and promoting our events, listening to our members, and bringing valuable speakers to our events, and much more.
Committee Members
We work as teams, and endeavor to get many people involved in chapter operations. Our current and proposed committees are:
Academic Community
This committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with colleges and universities within the chapter area.
Administration and Finance
This committee develops budgets, tracks financial activities, and maintains all financial and administrative records for the chapter.
Programs
This committee is responsible for selecting topics of interest for events, identifying discussion topics and themes for networking events, developing workshop agendas, identifying speakers, etc. for all local chapter activities.
Events and Marketing
This committee identifies venues and locations for events, provides food and refreshments, develops signage, announces activities and events in local publications, and maintains the web site.
Membership
This committee maintains the chapter membership database and develops and executes recruitment campaigns to promote membership and participation in PDMA.
Corporate Community
This committee is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with product companies within the chapter area. Activities include recruiting membership, event participation, speakers, sponsorship, etc.
