Job Description
Unit: Kaneva World Platform
Job Purpose
Kaneva is currently seeking a strong Product Manager responsible for developing and owning the roadmap of the Kaneva World Platform. This role includes leading cross-functional resources necessary for successful product definition, development, release, marketing and sales. We are seeking someone who is technically savvy but can also envision and communicate the “big picture” on the business/sales side. Our ideal candidate will have experience in the software development, client/server software and online video game technology.
The Product Manager will initially gather all requirements to enable 3rd parties to develop and publish in world content for the Virtual World Of Kaneva or stand alone worlds. To include: changes and version upgrades to the Kaneva editor and platform software; process definition and systems required to make this a turn key low cost publishing solution.
Additionally, this position will establish and execute the plan to bring a 3rd party developer solution to market (Working with CEO, COO, CGO, Development and Game Producer). To Include: offering/technology definition, packaging/pricing, promotions and marketing and training & delivery processes.
The position works closely with various internal and external team members.
Essential Functions
- Provide leadership across specialized technology development teams working on Kaneva Technology Platforms.
- Jointly manage development process for Kaneva product development teams measuring key deliverables.
- Lead release and iteration planning games for the planning and prioritization of the next release and/or iteration.
- Partner with 3rd party Kaneva vendors and/or customers in implementing software integration efforts.
- Evaluate other organizations technical capabilities and/or software applications for possible acquisition in support of Business Development Activities.
- Evaluate 3rd party software applications for potential usage.
- Manage the technology project risks involved in product implementation including technology, platform, development staff and/or contracting resources, and products.
- Participate in the hiring process for development team members.
- Lead product requirement gathering sessions.
- Work with the information technology organization throughout the product development process to prepare for the support and maintenance of the product.
- Utilize development team Software Architects as necessary to lead product implementation.
- Ensure the software product implementation aligns with the organization's vision for the product.
- Analyze and approve technology spend required to address product roadmap.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering or technology
- Minimum of 3 years of experience leading technology projects
- Experience with enterprise software technologies
- Minimum of 5 years of business experience, including experience working with technology in some capacity
